Wisconsin senator Russ Feingold (D) has recently announced an interest in broadening his musical horizons and is asking for help. Feingold is taking user suggestions at his web page and plans on having a personal pick once a month. As a self proclaimed Dylan nut, Feingold admits that music keeps him going when times get tough. In his introductory video he even takes a jab at the rest of his staff for not appreciating the same music as himself. It’s assumed that he will favor artists from Wisconsin, especially after considering his first pick: Bon Iver. It is great to see a government representative taking an interest in music, it will be interesting how far his horizon expands in the coming months. Hopefully other politicians will follow suit, but only time will tell.

First Barack endorses Jay-Z, now this guy endorses Bon Iver? Excellent. Not all politicians are empty, soulless creatures after all. I wonder what kind of music Sarah Palin listens to?
